SOULFEST Details & Packing List
What should I pack?
Sleeping bag, pillow, rain poncho, comfortable summer wear, sweatshirt and pants for chilly evenings, disposable camera, bug spray, card games and fun small stuff, sunscreen, one-person air mattress (optional), personal first aid kit, swimsuit, towel, toiletries, personal water bottle to be refilled at watering stations, bible and release form. Ladies, please pack light … there are no dress-up occasions, limited showers, etc. We’re roughing it.
How should I dress?
Common sense. Shorts and t-shirts normally. Ladies, give the guys a break by dressing modestly not wearing bikini tops and short shorts and stuff like that. Tankinis are fine but just use common sense… nuff said?
What should I leave home?
Negativity. Valuables, Guns, canons, artillery. Illegal drugs. Zoo animals.
*FOOD, GUM, CANDY!!! NH BLACK BEARS ARE REAL! ABOSULTELY NO FOOD OF ANY KIND! Soulfest vendors sell treats, so bring extra $$$ if you want snacks other than what we provide.
Transportation?
We will have 1-2 cars. Again, please, we beg you, pack light.
Times:
Be at the church at 1:30pm on Thursday to load up. We will leave at 2:00 pm. We’ll arrive at around four, and setup camp, make dinner and enjoy the campgrounds. Concerts begin around noon on Friday. Concerts end late Saturday. We will arrive back at The Rock Church at noon on Sunday, August 3rd for parent pickup.
Food:
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided each day.
What should I expect at Soulfest?
Soulfest is a giant music festival with tons of options and styles of music. Each day we will wake, have breakfast and then have a morning session of singing and worship. Concerts get rolling at 12:30 and continue until 10:00 each night. We will have a late night time of singing and reflection each night. If you are coming with our group, you are expected to be at EVERY group session we have.
Rules?
We don’t have a ton of rules but it is important that you follow the rules we do have so your mom and dad don’t have to come pick you up early.
1) Be at every group meeting and meal (schedules will be given)
2) Respect others
3) Girls in girls’ tent areas, guys in guys’
4) Don’t smoke, don’t chew, don’t go with people who do
5) No swimming without a leader present
6) Groups of at least three at all times.
7) No food, gum, candy, etc in the tenting area at any time!
Tents?
We use 6-8 person tents to save room and help us mix a bit. You will be put in a tent with at least 1 or 2 of your buddies and maybe more. New folks get put with the people the came with or if they are on their own we put them in a tent to make a good match so they have lots of fun.
Spending money?
There are concessions at Soulfest and they are VERY expensive. Bands get hit with a 25-35% fee that they have to pay Soulfest for everything they sell. That means they have to raise their prices. If you have bands that you love and want to get autographs from I recommend you purchase their cd first at Walmart or Amazon.com and bring it with you to get signed. You can buy band shirts, posters and stickers at the festival if you want. There are also venders selling drinks, french fries, food, etc at a pretty high cost. If you bring money, YOU are responsible for it.
